Hi! I'm Hadi Ahmed.

I am an aspiring Computer Engineer studying at Purdue University who loves to work with others and give back. When I am given a task, I am driven to complete it to the highest of standards and surpass expectations.

My interests and skills are spread across the entire spectrum of technology. Whether it be computer hardware, embedded software, systems infrastructure and networking, or web development, I have a deep passion and a burning interest to broaden my knowledge.

As a team member, I always contribute a variety of ideas to discussions. I am currently looking for a position at a company that values a strong leader and communicator.

Firmware Engineering Intern (June 2022 - August 2022)

  • Enhanced battery charger debugging hardware using firmware written in C++, a proprietary serial communication protocol, and internal task scheduling queues
  • Wrote battery and charger firmware for next generation chargers utilizing the IAR C++ toolchain, Google Test unit test framework, and Sphinx documentation generator
  • Integrated a new process to extract failure logs from existing firmware, then parse and upload all log entries to a REST API for storage and display to internal employees
  • Performed physical testing with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to verify backwards compatibility between next generation chargers and current generation batteries

Navistar Inc

Electrical and Electronics Validation Intern (May 2021 - August 2021)

  • Conducted vehicle-level testing of all electrical subsystems while analyzing CAN bus data
  • Diagnosed and repaired hardware and software errors using Vector CANalyzer and NI LabVIEW
  • Wrote and reviewed test procedures covering normal and failure conditions
  • Designed a test harness for testing handling of corrupt data by capturing and intentionally modifying data from on-board camera and lidar sensors

Purdue Aerial Robotics Team

Electrial Systems Lead (October 2020 - Present)

  • Collaborated with teammates to create an autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for competition in the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International student competition
  • Managed sub-teams spanning 20 members implementing flight control, image transmission, autonomous flight, and telemetry capture systems
  • Programed autonomous flight software utilizing RRT* pathfinding with Dubins Curves optimizations
  • Fabricated power distribution boards with voltage regulators and long-range antenna tracker firmware

Image Transmission Project Lead (September 2019 - October 2020)

  • Implement the Mission Planner ground station software for use on the aircraft
  • Design an image transmission system using a Raspberry Pi and Ubiquiti Bullet to send images from a camera aboard the aircraft to the ground station

Purdue University

Software Saturdays Lead (June 2020 - May 2022)

  • Oversaw presentation material for weekly learning sessions, write course curriculum for VueJS 2 and React, and program example code for learning sessions
  • Distributed marketing material to hire teaching mentors and recruit participants
  • Coordinated with Purdue administration to request funding, hire mentors, and record sessions
  • Assigned mentors to tasks for weekly sessions, including designing presentation slides, demonstration programs, and informational flyers
  • Increased program participation by 119% while reducing overall spending by 50%
  • Improved program completion percentage for 4 consecutive semesters

  • Guided participants through Android app development using Android Studio and Java
